Java Back-end Developer

ForwardKeys has an impressive and growing portfolio of travel analytics tools that help hotels, tourism boards and duty-free operators to predict and optimise their business. Our mission is to develop the right data solutions for these industries to answer their strategic business needs.

We are now looking for a Java Back-end Developer to support us in our product development.

Do you have at least five years of relevant experience? Are you seeking a new challenge? If so, you could be just what we’re looking for.

The position

Your day to day will involve working with microservices, Dockers, big data, AWS and more. As we work in agile teams, your closest cooperation will be with front-end developers as well as our data scientists.

Personal skills and experience

  • Java 11+, microservices, Dockers, OpenAPI 3, Json, Advanced SQL knowledge.
  • Exposure to test-driven development (TDD), jUnit, Clean Code.
  • At least five years in a similar Java back-end development position.
  • Proven ability to successfully interface with internal customers. A sense of customer service.
  • Intellectual curiosity, a self-starting personality, a passion for continuous improvement and a desire to drive change.
  • Ability to interface competently with other technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and quality in high-pressure situations.
  • A good team ethic, adaptability and the capacity to learn quickly.

Nice to have

  • Agile (Scrum), CI/CD: Jenkins, Jira, BitBucket, Git.
  • Linux administration knowledge.
  • Python, Parquet, Kubernetes, Postman, Salesforce API.
  • AWS, EC2, S3, Cloud Formation, etc.
  • OAUTH, Light4j, Spring Boot.
  • Front-end: Angular, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.
  • International experience.
  • A sense of humour goes a long way…

ForwardKeys is an innovative travel analytics company. The company was established in 2010 when the founders realised that the air reservation data used by airlines could serve every industry with an interest in global travellers. Since then, we have built an online platform on which our clients monitor and qualify traveller flows, map global demand, and forecast travel trends. We are now 60 people strong and growing: always looking for new datasets to develop and new products to help our clients understand the travel landscape.

You will be able to work from home, but your job will require several trips to our Headquarters in Valencia (Spain).
