Latest data reveals Europe’s Rising Star Destinations

A new clutch of “rising star” countries is emerging as international travellers forsake classic European tourism destinations because of terrorism fears, the latest data from ForwardKeys shows.

Advance long-haul flight bookings for June to August are all ahead of last year for Iceland, Poland, Ireland, Finland, Norway and Denmark. Apart from Spain, Europe’s classic destinations - France, Italy, Germany and the UK - are all under-performing.

Oliver Jager, ForwardKeys Co-founder and CEO, said: “Although some of the rising stars have a comparatively small market share, nevertheless they are seeing significant growth.”
