Version 5.0, released on 25-feb-2015

Data and general improvements:

  • TravelSky has been incorporated as data provider with exclusivity for ForwardKeys, thereby drastically improving our coverage of the Chinese source market.
  • Capture your screen, add your analyst interpretation or comments and send it to colleagues or others by email with PDF attachment without disturbing your process.
  • View the analysis you have sent in the past to your colleagues. Let them replay those analysis.
  • Export your analysis to Excel or XML format.
  • Export your graphs to images (PNG, JPG, BMP) and vectorial format (SVG).
  • Improved accuracy of Points of Sale; less unknown and more details.

  • The new Total Traffic mode now allows you to study non-directional traffic between two points, or study domestic routes, regardless of true origin and destination.

New Capacity code:

  • Flight Capacity is now available by origin and destination at any level: airport, city, region, country, continent.
  • Segmentations include: routes, airlines, arrival times, number of stops, cabin, type of aircraft, alliances, etc.
  • Study code sharing agreement by selecting an airline and viewing its code shares.
  • Capacity can be shown either in terms of number of seats, or number of flights.
  • Full functionality, including time graphs (with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or triannual scales), totalscalendars, etc.
  • See the evolution or pickup of how airlines define or adjust their capacity for a given flight date.
  • Make historical capacity analysis since 2008.

Admin only:

  • Agencies can be grouped by “agency group” in the results display, and sorted by “agency group” in the filter.

Version 6.3, released on 08-jun-2018

New Flight Search dataset

  • ForwardKeys is now fed daily with searches performed through Skyscanner.
  • DMOs, airports, airlines and media companies will easily find out where and when the travellers want to travel, where they are located and how much they are willing to pay, including low cost carrier data.
  • Geolocation data that provide estimations of the real-world geographical location, down to town level, of the device (pc, tablet, smartphone…) used by the traveller when searching. Visualize it in a map!
  • New Travel Willingness module to analyse the most searched O&D pairs and identify which of them remain unserved, rank them and choose the next route that will operate from and to your airport based on the demand.
  • New Catchment Area module to analyse why the travellers living nearby prefer to depart either from your airport or from a competitor airport – leakage analysis. Identify the true destination, carriers, departure times and chosen fares.

Admin only:

  • New modules in Bulk API: Departures and Continuing departures available, to get extra data in your CSV files from the API.
  • New improved user statistics with HubSpot.
  • Easier support pages content modification with Pages & Articles section.
  • Included new API options, to be controlled from the user configuration of the application
  • Modified text editor in the events creation popup, which gives you more flexibility in order to create or change the description.

Version 5.1, released on 16-jun-2015

  • Improved performance.
  • Lighter design, flowing layout.
  • Automatic normalization, in case perimeter changes have been detected for some airlines during the booking period of your analysis.
  • New analysis mode, focussing on historical time series for specific days, weeks, months, or even special lunar calendar periods.
  • With time series where the dataset is long enough and data is continious (e.g. full daily history), a long/seasonal/short term components Trend Decomposition is now available.
  • New extended events definition code with CalendarList and Parallel Timeline views.
  • Events can now have descriptions, comments, tags, etc. Feel free to add new events or comment on existing ones.
  • Improved calendar view with one unique ranges selection slider.
  • Doughnut graphs now show all labels and can be rotated to accomodate better.
  • Improved events graph for better readability: better background colors, easier to create new events, nicer negative events, etc.

Version 4.0, released on 03-dec-2013

Data and general improvements:

  • Totally brand new interface design.
  • New data providers have been incorporated, among which Abacus, thereby significantly improving our coverage of the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Better discrimination of the one-way trips (real one-way going out vs. one-way returning home).
  • You can now conveniently save your favourite queries along with the display settings, so you can easily replay them later directly from the menus.
  • Mix of all purchased source markets, of all types, in one single analysis.
  • Date selectors now show, selected dates, date applied by default (in blue), and corrected dates to match scales and other restrictions (in red). Dates can also be edited manually.
  • Excel exports now generate Excel 2007 files, hence with no limitation on the number of columns.
  • Reminders and alert emails are sent when your data has been updated, when your subscription is about to expire, and when there are alerts.

New graphs:

  • Graphs are now showing the current situation and the variation with previous period. Zooming, scrolling and value details are now synchronized on the 2 graphs.
  • Column graphs can now also be zoomed and scrolled.
  • Items in the graph’s legend are now un-/selectable. A long mouse-click on a selected item will select only this item. A Long click on an unselected item will select all.
  • Added graph options like printing, saving, logatithmic scales, etc.. You may also change the color scheme in the analysis page or in your preferences.
  • New filter on day-of-week for graphs and day-of-week for calendars, when analyzed in daily scale.
  • Graphs show the total of Y-0 and Y-1 as additional lines (non-stacked).
  • On the Book graph also shows the final figures reached last year and the maturity so far, with respect to last year finals.

New Views:

  • The new Calendar tab, available in all pages, now shows the variations in a visual and intuitive way. Ranges of variations can be customized with different colors.
  • The calendar can be displayed in daily, weekly mode or monthly mode, depending on your authorized scales.
  • Click on any day/week/month in the calendar to show a detailed pickup of booking pace analysis below.
  • The new Totals tab, available in all pages, now shows the totals for the analyzed period without need to make a different query. Therefore the “Total” analysis scale has been removed.
  • Totals are shown for each segmentation type and include shares and variations for current and past periods.
  • For your convenience, totals tables can be collapsed and sorted by any column. Items can also be un-/selected to show partial shares.

Improved business intelligence in Pickup / Booking Pace analysis:

  • Make pickup analysis directly from any other analysis (history, on-the-book, etc.). Select an arrival or overnight day or period in the calendar or directly in the date selector.
  • Switch between pickup (accumulated) or booking-pace (non-accumulated) analysis, directly from the pannel, or in your preferences.
  • View how the pickup curve for for future dates finally evolved last year.
  • Automatically play the sequence of booking dates like a film, to see evolution of markets, shares, variations, highlights, maturity and investment window.
  • Lock/unlock on specific booking dates to better view the detailed analysis.
  • Sort detailed analysis by share, variation, investment opportunities, or just natural order.
  • View which market or which pax segment has the best potential in terms of combined growth+share.
  • View where you are in terms of opportunity for investment in each market or segment, depending on the remaining leadtime to arrival and the current maturity.

Exclusive, new features for Hoteliers:

  • Combine arrivals and overnights data in the same analysis, filter on both overnights and arrivals dates.
  • View mixed data, like for instance arrivals vs. occupancy, in the same graph. View arrivals and overnights in the same calendar.
  • Go beyond the mere pax-in-town figures: get realistic room occupancy figures, thanks to intelligent, customizable rules.
  • Refine your analysis by day-of-week, both in the calendar and in the graph view.
  • Understand the pax profiles: customize the intelligence behind the business/leisure/group/ethnic segmentation.
  • View the pickup curves with logarithmic countdown scale until D-day, so you can focus on the most crutial period.
  • See how destination bank-holidays are shown in the graphs and how some weekends get longer when joining bank holidays.

Events:

  • The 3 event graphs are fully synchronized. Zooming or moving the cursor over one graph is automatically replicated in all.
  • Relate your data with events of both current and previous periods.
  • Qualify your graphs with events affecting your destination as well as your source markets.
  • Display events details by clicking on them, highlight source markets by hovering the legend, modify them or even create new ones.
  • Explain trends with the event variations, showing the positive and negative impact of changing dates of the same events of consecutive years.
  • Customize events to your needs: set the impact for your specific case, delete or create events. Is the event impacting destination or origin, affecting arrival or booking dates, etc.?
  • Share your customized events with other users of your company.

Admin only:

  • A new Negative leadtime range has been created, both as filter and in results, to refer to those transactions that arrive after the flight date.
  • Airline and Agency information is now available.

Version 3.4, released on 03-dec-2012

  • New date selectors. No more need to specify the operator as “between” is now assumed in all cases. Visual date range selection (drag-and-drop).

Version 3.2, released on 12-feb-2012

  • Customizable ranges of Length-of-stay and Lead-Time, per user and per destination. Added more ranges for Pax-per-booking.
  • Easier to apply the dates of some period to the previous year.
  • Easier and improved view of occupancy rates / rooms load factor. Removed the option where it was less meaningful.
  • Removed history pages as the ones formerly known as “seasonality” allow for the same feature. Merged the forecast and calendar view as 1 unique page.

Version 3.0.2, released on 30-jul-2011

  • New analysis: arrivals & stays historical seasonality, both by arrival/stay dates and booking dates.
  • Best/worst panels now include totals. Also increase the font size in most graphics so they are more readable.
  • Accounts can now have multiple destinations, according to what has been contracted. Calibration is per destination.
  • Option to display graphs in stacked mode (absolute or percentual) or overlapped, both in line or bar modes. This helps detecting peaks in overview graphs.
  • Improved calibration (go to My Account > Calibration). Added extra air-to-hotel conversion rate, and a wizard to help you calibrate for your market.
  • A new length-of-stay called Return home allows for better benchmarking of the figures against airport traffic data.

Version 3.0.1, released on 01-jul-2011

  • Noticeable performance improvements.
  • Destinations can now be entire countries, as well as some provinces/regions.
  • New analysis: arrivals history by booking dates & stays history by booking dates
  • Source markets can now be filtered and analyzed by national regions. Please contact us to define specific origin regions.
  • A new analysis scale called Total allows displaying just the totals over the specified periods, in a pie-chart manner.
  • Charts are presented as bar charts whenever the scale allows for it to be readable, otherwise line/area-charts are used.

Version 3.0, released on 30-May-2011

  • A whole new version, with a new software and database architecture!
  • All analysis options have default values in your profile.
  • Graphs can be absolute or percentual.
  • Analysis scale can now be monthly, apart form daily and weekly.
  • Column charts replace the line/area charts whenever the scale makes it visually acceptable..
  • All data tables can be exported to Microsoft Excel.

Version 5.2, released on 29-oct-2015

  • smart normalization option is now available. Instead of excluding all airlines with perimeter changes, it “softly” normalizes some of them taking into account the seat capacity.
  • The forecasts code offers the option to calculate the MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) of the current project.
  • For more convenience and better readability we have foreseen negative filters. With this you can exclude categories in a more intuitive and natural way.
  • In the Routes mode, you may now perform directional traffic analysis. This will show a special “traffic flows” segmentation.
  • Exporting itineraries detail to Excel is now possible.
  • Corporations with several users can now designate one or several master user with access to usage statistics of all the company’s users.

Combined Trips Analysis:

  • The new length-of-trip filter and segmentation gives further control on trips with multiple destinations.
  • The PSS and NSS can now be used to filter trips that include certain destinations, but yet display all the stops/stays of the trips.
  • Stops/stays occuring both before and after the main location can now be filtered, counted and displayed together as a unique set.

Scheduled Reports:

  • After any analysis you may have done, not only can you keep it in your favorites but also schedule reception of this same analysis as a PDF report on a regular basis.
  • Define a report name, frequency, and the dates to be applied. Dates are relative to the moment of generation of the report.
  • In the “My scheduled reports” menu” you will find all you scheduled reports definitions. Select one and you will see the details…
  • When viewing a scheduled report definition, change the frequency, name, dates, etc. You may also stop the system from generating it. Once stopped, you may restart it again.
  • Click any past generated reports to view it (PDF) or reproduce it with the dates that have been applied.

Version 5.3, released on 04-feb-2016

  • Improved performance for most common analysis.
  • You may now select several main locations simultaneously. The system will then group them altogether as if it were a unique location.
  • New cabin classes segmentation and filters. This refers to the “highest” cabin booked during any segment of the trip.
  • In the Totals view, each segmentation shows a column graph per market.
  • Simplified Departures code, focussing on destinations and hiding details about origin and previous steps. Please contact support if you wish to analyst continuing departures.
  • Connectivity code: added new segmentation on “length of stay at Destination” (NSS) in the results.
  • Improved segmentation by “booking signs”. It is now possible to track the real/full PNR cancellations, aside from the partial segment modifications/cancellations.
  • New menu items solely display the criteria form, without performing a by-default analysis. This makes the interface more responsive. Main menus remain active for default actions.
  • Forecasts code now allows selecting a range of forecasted dates. Forecasts accuracy has also been brought one step higher.
  • Ability to configure Point of Sale as source market, for specific markets. That’s useful to count pax flying from an airport outside their home market. Please contact support…
  • Some end-of-trip segments have been requalified as return-home, in case they return to the country of departure but a different city, after an international trip.
  • More end-of-trip segments have been requalified as return-home, in case they return to a city located within 500km of the departure city, after an international trip.
  • “Business” pax profile has been further qualified by using information about bookings made at corporate implants, when available.
  • Ability to configure your account to change the meaning of lead-time. You may now count the lead-time since the PNR creation date, rather than since successive trip modifications.
  • Doughnut charts are now flat and slighly smaller, in order to accomodate better for the labels and be more readable.
  • Improved normalization by considering perimeter changes per GDS.
  • New Fares code. This code is still under validation. Please contact support if you wish to have early access to it.

Version 6.0, released on 21-oct-2016

New navigation and layout

  • More screen space available for the data, graphs, findings, etc.
  • Menus, options, filters and tabs are now fixed (no scroll) on top and left parts of the screen.
  • Data is now shown in a segmentation-centric way. Select a segmentation (e.g. origin, pax per booking, etc.) and see all analysis for that segmentation at once.
  • Easily switch between pickup and booking-pace modes.
  • Zoom-in on a period or select specific day-of-week directly on the calendar widget; it’s dynamic and does not have to reperform the analysis.
  • Use the “light” query modes for simplified filter forms, and just the basic segmentations in your results: it’s twice faster.
  • Information about normalization and configuration is now at your fingertips
  • Findings about the currently shown segmentation results are right there to help you discover hidden peaks and variations in your data.
  • Options to remove some columns in the Totals table, to facilitate screen copies, etc..

New features

  • You can now get reports where the categorization is not necessarily origins; it can now be anything. For instance you could make a cross-analysis of PPB against LOS, etc.
  • This choice of “categorization” also reflects in the tabs of the Excel exports. Besides, the Excel reports now follow a vertical layout, with the table for Y-1 figures below the one for Y-0, whereas they used to be side by side.
  • New length-of-stay categories: short transit and long transit, allowing to differentiate between pax with enough time for shopping at the airport and others.
  • Unprecedented details in terms of locations. Track pax down to the terminal level.
  • New segmentation by entry/exit points, that is, wherethrough pax enter/leave your main location. And the respective filters.
  • New segmentation by arrival/departure times in/from your main location. And the respective filters.
  • Averages graphs now show the evolution through time of the average of all numeric segmentations (LOS, LT, PPB, etc.)
  • More details in the itineraries window, now including both departure and arrival points of each segment.

Capacity and Fares modules

  • Added new segmentations to Capacity: Flight Duration and Weekly Frequency.
  • Added New Routes Analysis to Capacity.

Admin only:

  • Long/short haul filter.
  • New coverage analysis tool, benchmarking MIDT data against capacity.
  • Partial integration of back-office with SalesForce.
  • Allow World as main location, with unlimited sub locations; to avoid entering 15 subcontinents.
  • Specific config of locations & amounts for revenue-share..
  • Specific field for the “3 free cities” that go with each source market country. And a wizard tool to determine those cities automatically.
  • Ability to level-down the unlimiting of main location, source/destination markets, and capacity markets.
  • User-specific configuration can now be applied on a per-field basis.

  • Select in which modules origin/destination market restrictions should be applied. And where to swap markets vs. main locations.

  • Soft normalization has been improved by applying corrections per GDS, and by focussing on long term corrections, rather than trying to stick closely to coapacity figures.

Version 6.1, released on 19-may-2017

New general features

  • Segmentation option to view all segmentations at once.
  • Itineraries details are now available on all segmentations.
  • Lengths of Stay: categories Short Transfer (>2h), Dwelling Transfer (>6h), Long Transfer (>24h), and Day Trip (stay and back to origin). Category “0 night” has been removed.
  • New section showing the most recently qualified events by our analysts, related to your query.
  • Most tables have now the ability to adjust their columns size
  • More flexibility in scheduled reports: same date previous year for both from & to dates; set both dates as fixed or relative; option to preview immediately.
  • Averages included in Excel exports

New Routes code

  • Routes code now allows for querying non-direct routes.
  • Queries possible in both directions, or non-directional.
  • Traffic flow segmentation including Behind, Local, Beyond and Bridge, combined with indications on the origin or destination.
  • Routes code now allows to filter on, and show segmented results by “trip origin”.
  • Routes code now allows to filter on, and show segmented results by “behind points” and “beyond points”.
